A little about me…

I was born in the former German Democratic Republic. At the age of nine I became seriously hooked to Fencing. My biggest goal was to become a member of the National Squad and win a gold Medal in the Olympics. So I worked hard for years before I passed the entrance test on the most prestigious sports boarding school. I trained there for years on a professional level up to 30 hrs per week – unfortunately without ever winning an Olympic gold medal.

Later on I gave up Fencing in favour of Karate, which I trained to a black belt level. Even though I fought internationally, there was still no Olympic gold in it for me.  Therefore I started studying and gained a Master degree in Sport Science.  So I went step by step from being an active athlete to a becoming a coach, passing on my knowledge and experience to my own students for over 15 years.

You will often find me…

I'm a bow hunter and I really like to be out for in the remotes parts of the NT. To stalk in the dawn somewhere in the middle of nowhere its more than “just” to chase a wild animal. There are so many things to see and to feel! Set up a hammock camp in the late afternoon, light up a campfire and keep going the next day. No people arround, no mobile reception … for me it’s the most exciting way to really enjoy the remoteness the NT has to offer. That’s what keeps me here.

My favourite quote…

“You miss 100 percent of the shots you don't take."  Wayne Gretzky

What I love about fitness…

The feel good sensation you get after a hard training session, you're just at ease with the world and yourself.

My approach to fitness…

Fitness is THE essential stepping stone for any sports, regardless of which one you play.

My hidden talents…

Back at home I love playing my old guitar.

My specialty…

My very own sense of humor
